The duo of Keith Murphy and Andy Fales has for decades been an institution for sports fans looking for thoughtful discourse in the state of Iowa. For 15 years, “Murph & Andy” dominated the airways of KXnO Radio and now will be heard exclusively on Iowa Everywhere. From movie reviews to their classic “more” conversations, Murph & Andy were pioneers in changing sports talk radio in our state and around the country.

Keith Murphy

Keith Murphy has won Iowa Sportscaster of the Year many times and anchored numerous Emmy, Associated Press, and IBNA choices for “Best Sportscast.” He’s won Murrow and Sevareid awards for outstanding sports reporting, Cityview Best of Des Moines Outstanding Sports Commentator more than 25 times. Murphy has been the sports director/anchor at WHO TV-13 for 28 years, and had the same role prior at WOI in Ames. He founded WHO’s iconic “Soundoff” program 28 years ago and hosted a daily radio show beside Andy Fales for 15 years. Follow Keith on social media for escapades with his wife Jenny.

Andy Fales

Andy Fales was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and is a lifelong fan of the Cardinals and Blues. He graduated from Drake University and interned at KFNS All-Sports Radio in St. Louis while covering high school sports for the St. Louis Suburban Journals newspapers.

From there he moved to Rhinelander, Wisconsin where he began his career in TV news at WJFW. He then returned to Des Moines to work in the sports departments at WOI TV and WHO13, before spending a short time at KMBC TV in Kansas City. In 2008, Andy returned to WHO13 where he continues to work as a news anchor, feature reporter, and video columnist who contributes his “What’s Bugging Andy?” segment weekly.

In 2009, he and Keith Murphy started The Murph & Andy Show on KXNO Radio.

Andy lives in West Des Moines with his beautiful wife and their two kids, two dogs, and a cat. They enjoy sports, cooking, mixology, gardening, camping, fishing, boating, reading, music, movies, and vacationing in Mexico and Door County, Wisconsin.

Andrew Downs

Andrew Downs, known to listeners as AD, began producing Murph and Andy in 2011 and has been with them ever since. After a 15-year career in radio, during which he oversaw an expansion of local shows and station reach, AD hung up the headphones in search of greener pastures. He landed at AKC Marketing in Johnston where he coordinates merchandise needs for a variety of companies and organizations. AD is a nearly lifelong resident of Urbandale where he lives with his wife Judy, son Charlie, and daughter Ginny.
